Saturday before X-mas

Jnana Mudra

X-mas has a very different meaning for people around the world. Here in the northern hemisphere, its quite of a holiday, and in Norway its THE holiday. I like x-mas very much, and today we’re decorating the house with little Santa’s (norwegian: nisse), red hearts, and last but not least – the X-mas tree. For me this holiday has positive associations, and being close with family, having time together is what I appreciate the most. Some gifts will be exchanged, did you get yours yet?

X-mas is also a time for contemplation, and offers an occation to do something special for others. Its also a time to give back, or give attention to someone who needs it. What does X-mas mean for you?

PRACTICE
A way to stay in awareness in the intenseness what the holidays confronts us with, bring your thumb and index finger together in Jnana Mudra, a gesture of consiousness.
Place your hands in Jnana mudra, palms facing upwards, resting on your knees.
Close your eyes for a moment, be in silence, and observe the moment.
Enjoy!
